Purpose
At Warracknabeal Primary School our agreed purpose is ‘To equip our students with the skills, knowledge and attitudes necessary to become effective and productive members of a rapidly changing world’.
Our ongoing commitment is to provide every student with the opportunity to maximise his/her learning potential. Through the implementation of a personalised learning approach our program planning will be based on the integration of individual needs and interests, learning styles and capabilities, curriculum expectations, new communication technologies and developmental pathways . Students will be engaged in l earning activities that are planned to be relevant, challenging, stimulating and enjoyable.
Our purpose is highlighted by two key expectations:
• We have high expectations of our teachers. They will be responsible for implementing programs planned to maximise the development of intellectual, physical, social and emotional potential in all students. Their teaching strategies will be designed to promote active, engaged, self-motivated, self-directed and reflective learning. They will support all students in their ongoing development and well-being and help students learn the value of effort, endeavour, persistence and resilience in achieving high standards.
• We have high expectations of our parents and the wider community. It is vital that they provide us with ongoing support and ensure our communication links are based on positive, creative and constructive interaction . They will help us ensure that our school will be a safe and secure environment for all students and promote the importance of education and commitment to learning.
